Watching the new clip from the upcoming documentary, “Becoming,” shows exactly why former First Lady Michelle Obama is so beloved by many. In fact, in a year that seems to be destined for infamy, with natural disasters, global pandemics, and a US Presidential election that could somehow be worse than 2016, just hearing Michelle Obama talk to a group of young women is a welcome respite from the craziness.
Netflix has released a new clip/teaser for the upcoming documentary, “Becoming,” which the platform will debut in less than two weeks. The film is expected to follow a 34-city speaking tour that Michelle Obama went on after her husband, President Barack Obama, left office after serving two terms. The clip answers the question of “What’s next?” for the First Lady, while also serving as a teaser for a doc that might be many people’s first real exploration of the life of Mrs. Obama.
The documentary is directed by Nadia Hallgren. The filmmaker previously worked on a variety of short docs and the docuseries “She’s the Ticket.” “Becoming” marks her feature debut.
“Becoming” is expected to arrive on Netflix on May 6.
