As seen in the new trailer for the Netflix original film, “Tigertail,” Yang is set to tell the story of a Taiwanese man that loves American culture and dreams of leaving his homeland for a chance to pursue the American dream. However, the dream isn’t always reality and through the years, he struggles to balance his responsibilities and family life. This has led him to where he is currently, decades older and struggling to reconnect with his estranged daughter.

The film stars Hong-Chi Lee, Tzi Ma, Christine Ko, Joan Chen, Yo-Hsing Fang, Kuei-Mei Yang, Kunjue Li, and Fiona Fu. As mentioned, “Tigertail” is written and directed by Alan Yang. He’s probably best known as the co-creator, writer, and director of the Emmy-winning series “Master of None.” He also worked on series such as “Parks & Rec,” “The Good Place,” and his most recent co-creation, “Forever.”
