Got a Tip?

Gal Gadot To Star Opposite The Rock In New Action-Comedy ‘Red Notice’

Over the last few decades, cinema has been filled with legendary actor and director collaborations. There’s Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio. Also, Paul Thomas Anderson and Philip Seymour Hoffman. And let’s not forget Wes Anderson and Bill Murray. But there’s one duo that has yet to get their due, but it looks like that might be happening soon – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Rawson Marshall Thurber.

If you’re sitting there thinking, “huh?” then shame on you! These are the two artists that have brought us the legendary comedy, “Central Intelligence,” and the single best film featuring The Rock with one leg, the upcoming “Skyscraper.” And now, because you demanded it, the duo are collaborating once again, for a new action/comedy film, “Red Notice.” And guess what? They have a “wonderful” (just you wait for that reveal!) actress coming along for the ride.

Deadline is reporting that “Wonder Woman” (get it? “wonderful actress”) star Gal Gadot has signed on to star opposite The Rock in “Red Notice.” Believe it or not, this is the first time that Gadot has broken out of her jail cell known as the DCEU since playing Wonder Woman.

The exact plot of the film is still a secret, but the report states that the film will be a “globe-trotting, action-comedy, heist thriller.” And the good news doesn’t end there! Apparently, the production is currently looking for another male star for the film. Will Thurber and Johnson sign up their “Central Intelligence” buddy Kevin Hart?

Other than his collabs with The Rock, Thurber also has helmed the comedies “We’re the Millers” and “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.” Johnson has a full plate in front of him, with “Jungle Cruise,” “Jumanji 2,” “Hobbs and Shaw,” “San Andreas 2,” and about 14 other projects in various stages of development. We’re pretty sure he never sleeps.

Look, it may sound as if we’re being a little hard on the film, but ultimately, this sounds like another sure thing for The Rock and it’s nice that Gal Gadot will have a chance to prove she’s more than just Wonder Woman.

“Red Notice” will begin production in April 2019 for a June 12, 2020 release. Adjust your calendars accordingly.
