I can’t imagine the pitch meeting for “Girls Trip” was very difficult. It’s the kind of movie where a screenwriter or director could walk into a studio with the name on a concept poster and walk out with a deal, which is a long way of saying, you probably know what you’re getting into with this new red band trailer for the upcoming comedy.
Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Tiffany Haddish, Larenz Tate, Kate Walsh, Mike Colter, and Kofi Siriboe come together in the Malcolm D. Lee (“Soul Men,” “The Best Man Holiday“) -directed movie about a group of girlfriends who get crazy in New Orleans. Here’s the official synopsis:
When four lifelong friends—Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish—travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival, sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there’s enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush. James Lopez, head of motion pictures for Will Packer Productions, and Preston Holmes, executive produce.
“Girls Trip” opens on July 21st.
