Got a Tip?

‘La La Land,’ ‘Arrival,’ ‘Nocturnal Animals’ Lead 2017 BAFTA Nominations

Another day, another awards nominations announcement (in fact two today, with the PGAs coming later on), and BAFTA unveiled this year’s batch of nominees bright and early this morning.

As you might imagine, “La La Land” leaves with a hefty eleven nominees, shortly followed by (good news) “Arrival” and (bad news) “Nocturnal Animals,” though the latter failed to pick up a Best Film nod. “Moonlight” did pick up a Best Film nod, but Barry Jenkins and Denzel Washington, stalwarts of the awards race otherwise, were nowhere to be found in a fairly dispiriting snub from the British group.
