I think this is your most accurate category so far. Totally agree with top five.
Thanks. Long way to go.
I want: Adams – Arrival, Davis, Huppert, Portman and Stone.
I would love to see both Kate Beckinsale and Sally Field be nominated, but I know it ain’t gonna happen. Really loved both of their movies.
Golden Globes for sure.
I’m pretty confident we will have a black winner next year. Definitely between Viola or Ruth.
Or perhaps another foreign, more specifically *French*, winner….? 🙂
I’d add Jessica Chastain for “Miss Sloane” to the “Almost There” section.
I’m rooting for Huppert. Her Elle is a tour-de-force and without slapping your face with the notion of “hey this is my Oscar bait role”. Personally when it comes to greatest living actress i’d say her and Binoche are superior than Streep.
Hey I love Juliette Binoche too. 🙂 And yes you’re correct. I’m rooting for Huppert as well due to the fact that her performance doesn’t scream “Oscar bait” too much like some of the other nominees or previous best actress winners.
This is a great list, but Chastain should be in the conversation on your “almost there list”
such a shame Rebecca Hall has missed out on a Golden Globe nomination and hasn’t been considered a front runner for a best actress Oscar nomination for her towering performance in Christine……..
Yeah she’s the underdog. It’d be a (pleasant) surprise to her her name being called out during the Oscar nomination announcement.
