We’re guessing that part of the deal struck between HBO and Nikki Finke, who now has given her blessing to “Tilda” (meaning she got a load of cash and won’t send her lawyers after the studio), is that she gets to exclusively report every bit of casting that comes down the line for the show. We probably should’ve seen that one coming.
Anyway, Deadline reports (duh) that joining the already strong cast of Diane Keaton, Ellen Page, Wes Bentley, David Harbour and Leland Orser will be Jason Patric. Patric is set to play Tilda’s “nemesis, the powerful head of a media empire.” Patric was seen earlier this year in the otherwise forgettable “The Losers” where he pretty much stole the whole movie as the amoral sleazebag baddie. We’re kind of excited to see him here playing an entertainment honcho going toe-to-toe with Nikki Finke aka Tilda.
The series was created by Bill Condon and Cynthia Mort and filming is set to begin this month in Los Angeles, with Condon stepping behind the camera for the pilot.
