If you thought you already heard about “Takers,” well, you have. The film has been completed for some time and with the first trailer arriving in September of last year. Unfortunately, the release date for the heist film bumped around, its now set to arrive in late August and a fresh trailer has landed and, well, you’ll see.
Starring Idris Elba, Matt Dillon, Hayden Christensen, Zoe Saldana and thespians T.I. and Chris Brown, “Takers” is a straight up heist-gone-wrong film leading to lots of gunshots and explosions and apparently, Hayden Christensen wearing a ridiculous hats. We really feel for Elba and Saldana, both great actors stuck in another supbar film this year (the first being “The Losers”). As for Matt Dillon, he needs a new agent. His last few films? “Armored,” “Old Dogs,” “Nothing But The Truth,” “You Me And Dupree” and “Herbie Fully Loaded.” It says something that the lone dramatic picture is the exception rather than rule to the dreck he’s otherwise been in.
Anyway, if somehow this two minutes of ridiculousness still has you mildly interested and you have nothing else to do that weekend, “Takers” opens on August 20th.
The fact that Hayden Christensen is in this film makes it my pick for the worst movie of 2010. After Star Wars and Jumper, I can honestly say he might be the worst actor ever (or at least the worst ever to continue receiving prominent movie roles).
i honestly don't understand the negative sarcasm regarding T.I.! i mean is there something i'm missing.
have you seen the film? i on't think it will be any good but you never know.
