Okay, this nostalgia train has got to stop. When it was announced that "Boy Meets World" was returning, but this time spun as "Girl Meets World," it was sort of amusing and cute and fine. No harm done. But is the world really hankering for the further adventures of Danny (Bob Saget), Joey (Dave Coulier), Uncle Jesse (John Stamos), D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) in "Full House"? Warner Bros. thinks there might be interest.
TV Guide reports that the studio is "mulling" bringing "Full House" back to the small screen, and not as a reboot, but with the original cast. Stamos and all the (now grown up) kids are said to be down with doing this, but will Saget and Coulier will be "involved"? No word yet on Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, but considering they’ve spent the better part of their post-show years establishing themselves as fashion mavens and more, and actively worked to shake "Full House" from their CV, we sincerely doubt they’ll be back.
So why is this even happening? Because apparently Nick At Nite’s ratings for the show are quite good, and "Full House" has a surprisingly healthy teenage audience, as well as within the coveted 18-49 bracket. Not only are those who watched the show growing up tuning in, so too are those who are too young (or not even born in time) to remember when "Full House" was first on the air. As to why people are watching this excruciating sitcom, that hasn’t been explained.
Stamos is the one trying to make this happen (he’s a part owner of the show), saying earlier this year on "Watch What Happens Live" that they’re "working on a twist on a sequel," and no, we don’t know what that means either.
So we’ll see what happens, but if "Family Matters" gets a reboot next, the new Golden Age Of TV is officially dead.
ðYES. THIS IS GONNA BE AWESOME!!!!!!!!
I hope "The Twist" is that the Olsen twins' character has been brutally murdered and the rest of the group goes on a vengence killing spree against anyone that reminds them of that fact.
I thank to bring back family matter woud be wonderfull.
Hey Full House Producers
There's Another Two Characters You Might Want To Add
Bud Bundy From Married With Children To Be DJ's Husband And Also Kimmy Gibbler's Uncle Yohan To Be Added
holy crap please nooooooooooooooooo
If ratings on Nick @ Nite actually matter, someone better hold George Lopez back in trying to get his old sitcom running again.
There's already a Family Matters sequel/reboot being worked on for TBS. I worked with a few people involved in the project earlier this year. It's called Family Still Matters and has most of the same cast except the actor who portrays Urkel. Apparently he didn't want anything to do with it. They couldn't even get him to do a cameo as Stefon.
Family Matters is awesome, even Scorecese agrees, giving the show a quick cameo in Wolf of Wall Street in the scene where the lemons are starting to kick in. Stop hating Playlist
You know these won't stop until the resurrection of Hangin with Mr. Cooper.
Whats next Blossom?
