Watch: The BFFs Are Back In New Trailer For ‘Broad City’ Season 3

Broad City, Season 3There are few voices on the television comedy landscape at the moment that are as bright as Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer. The duo behind "Broad City" have quickly ascended to the top ranks of small screen laughs, with their Comedy Central becoming a big fave, and I can only imagine it’s just a matter of time until the feature film world comes knocking down their down, as it did for their network pals, "Key & Peele." But first, they’ve got another season of "Broad City" to deliver, and the latest trailer is here.

One of the things that many treasure about "Broad City" is how it mixes observations on gender, sex, and more, in between the laughter. Chatting with Ellen Page for Interview, the duo explain their approach at balancing all those elements.

"We often love when people write reviews that are much smarter than what we thought we were doing. But I think we write about stuff that we think about ourselves as human beings living in the time we’re living in right now: what we’re thinking about with our family and friends that we want to talk about; what we would talk about, Ilana and I, and our other writers. So whenever we approach the other Abbi and Ilana, it always comes from us — rather than us thinking, ‘What do people want to see?’ " Jacobson said.

"Our awareness level of messaging versus straight pitching funny shit is admittedly changing as time goes on. It’s hard not to," Glazer added. "We always want to come from a place that’s real. We want to come from a place of comedy: ‘What’s the funniest thing?’ Real and comedy are almost the same priority, because they’re kind of synonymous. And it’s hard. It trips you up, that awareness. But it’s also necessary. I’m glad we think in those terms — sexual politics or whatever. That’s part of the show."

"Broad City" season 3 arrives on February 17th.
