“I Put My Pee-Pee In Your Tee-Pee”: Painful Jokes From Adam Sandler’s ‘Ridiculous 6’ Script Surface

Jack & Jill Adam Sandler"The movie has ridiculous in the title for a reason: because it is ridiculous. It is a broad satire of Western movies and the stereotypes they popularized, featuring a diverse cast that is not only part of — but in on — the joke," Netflix responded following reports yesterday that Native American actors walked off the set of Adam Sandler‘s currently in-production "Ridiculous 6" due to offensive material in the script. So, where they just being overly sensitive, or did they have a legitimate gripe about the contents of the screenplay? Well, Defamer got their hands on a draft and it’s not pretty.

It’s from 2012, so the caveat here is that some things could have changed, but given the reaction by those on set, and by some of the details found within, apparently not much has been overhauled. So what kind of astute comedy are we dealing with from the minds co-writers Sandler and longtime collaborator Tim Herlihy? Well, take a look below:

Now it should be noted that film doesn’t have many scenes with Native people in them, but these kind of jokes are reportedly par for the course when they do appear.

Again, it’s a fine line between dumb and distasteful and egregiously offensive, but I can easily see how this falls in the latter camp. That said, it’s what Sandler has been doing for years, to one degree or another. Perhaps the worst crime of all is that Netflix somehow thought this was worth investing in and gave Adam Sandler a bunch of money to make it happen. Somewhere along the line that decision making process got messed up.

  1. This is a type of joke that has been prevalent in many comedies all throughout history.

  2. Well, no wonder the Native Americans walked out. It\’s just mind-numbingly idiotic. It\’s not just offensive to Native Americans. It\’s offensive to…. well anyone with a brain.

  3. This is why I\’m not a fan of \’ironic racism\’ in comedy. Just because you say that you\’re satirizing stereotypes doesn\’t mean that you are. If nothing else, giving an Indian character a \’person-does-this-thing\’ name is a lazy, hacky joke. F*** this movie.
