“Avengers: Age Of Ultron” hits theaters next weekend, but it’s already earned an early two-day total of $44.8 million from 26 international markets. Pundits speculate it could open to $150-160 million its first weekend in North America.
As you’ve probably heard, it’s a big-ass movie, featuring dozens of characters and Marvel Cinematic Universe cameos, and is stuffed to the gills with stories and people (read our review here). Apparently the Joss Whedon-penned script was so dense and CG-driven that it kinda confused Jeremy Renner at first.
“I was trying to figure out Ultron and Vision and all these other things… but it’s hard to visualize such a visual movie with just two-dimensional words,” Renner told The Daily Beast this week. “So I just focused on what I could do to understand this, and just trust Joss. I feel like a lot of the cast is the same way. ‘I thought Ultron was a robot! How come there are a thousand of them? Oh, he’s not?! He’s an actual piece of software and he’s going in — and what does that look like?’”

“There were a lot of confusing things about it for me,” Renner said, laughing at himself. “To think about what was happening with [Black Widow and [The Hulk], I didn’t know… a lot of stuff got lost for me. I just trusted Joss, and if something felt fake I would say so.”
Was Renner asked about a Hawkeye solo film? You bet. The answer? Slightly more revealing this time. The actor suggests Marvel and Kevin Feige have an idea of how they could set up a Hawkeye movie, but it’s a matter of if they choose to do that or not. But it sounds like they have a rough plan.
“There are always talks about things, but that doesn’t ever mean they’ll become a reality,” Renner teased. “All these things can still happen. They just pave some road and plant some seeds for future things — if they choose to go down that road.”
Will we ever see a Hawkeye solo film? Personally, I doubt it. Characters like him feel better suited to utility-player roles, but you do get to see the character stick out and get his own arc in “Avengers: Age Of Ultron.” The movie hits on May 1st. Fast forward to the two-minute mark to see the new ‘Avengers’ clip, and watch a bunch of related TV spots and character featurettes below.
i think Hawkeyes should get he\’s own movie because right now not everybody likes him but when they make the movie people and see. Understand he\’s story then people start to like him
Hawkeye better not get a solo movie before Black Widow.
