"Daredevil" season 2 is now playing on Netflix, and finding flaws with it seems to inspire a lot of heated debate (see the comments section of our review). But for the faithful, the new batch of episodes deliver on the grit that has been promised, along with yet another extended fight sequence.
In season one, we had a very "Oldboy"-indebted fight scene that ran five minutes long and saw Matt Murdock inflict punishment on an unending stream of baddies (watch it here), and now for season two, our hero faces a similar showdown. This time the action starts in a hallway, but heads to a stairwell, with Daredevil still managing to beat the pulp out of all comers. It’s certainly a bit less elegant this time, with the cuts to black to maintain the aura of a "single-take" shot pretty noticeable. But nonetheless, people have been digging this one pretty hard.
Check out the fight below, and after that, dive into a 6-minute video which details all the Easter Eggs, secret cameos and references across the second season.
itsatrap you seem like an happy person.
It\’s all animated, fyi.
Just as forgettable as the fight from season one. In 10-20 Years this will not stand the test of time. Cinematically there is nothing going on. Its just a choreographed dance trying to live you to up other great scenes that have more than just choreography and a steadycam. The only reason this is popular is because of sh!t heads with no taste that follow others thinking. If this is a standard of good fighting in films, then Batman Vs Superman is Godfather next to it. Every "creative" behind this show can scuk a nut for all I care. Nothing compares to the greats of the past decade like Prachya Pinkaew, Gareth Evans, Jee-woon Kim. This show is marketed sh!t, just like this website, although I keep coming back I guess….
