"She's a great actress…why don't we just give her some lines?" Woody Harrelson's character Steve Schmidt, McCain’s senior campaign strategist and adviser says in the full length trailer for "Game Change." But he might as well be talking about Julianne Moore.
Moving beyond just a dead-on imitation, Moore is phenomenal in this brand new spot for the upcoming HBO movie, one that will seem to show Palin both using and being used by the John McCain political machine in the 2008 presidential election. Directed by Jay Roach, who has reunited with his "Recount" writer Danny Strong, the upcoming movie is based on the best-seller by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, and will track the 2008 election on both sides. This movie has pulled together a pretty fantastic cast that also includes Ed Harris shining as McCain and Ron Livingston as Mark Wallace, a senior adviser. But really, this looks like it's going to be focusing on the head-to-head battle between Steve Schmidt and Sarah Palin, whose friction spilled out into the public after the campaign was finished with emails and comments being throw around in the press.
Either way, we're hooked and can't wait. "Game Change" premieres on HBO on March 10th.
Wow, a movie to hate on a person lots of people hate, that only people who hate her will watch! Yay smug hatred! BUT seriously, doesn't the book say it's about "Obama and the Clintons," too? RIght on the cover there? Plus I bet John Edwards was covered, as well. We could make fun of his sliminess as well, but I guess the movie just wants to be a hit piece on Republicans. Also, I get the impression this movie was really meant to be "relevant" by coming out while Palin was running for president and humiliating her, but that clearly didn't pan out.
And the Actor / Golden Globe for best Drama / ensemble goes to………
I love Julianne with all my heart but I think she looks kind of terrible in this?
The "I so don't want to go back to Alaska" line was funny, though.
She's the best.
WOW!!! Julianne Moore looks pretty incredible.
