Do you remember that Bryan Singer has a new movie called "Jack The Giant Killer" coming out? Yeah, we don't either. So it's probably not a big deal that Warner Bros. is changing — well, tweaking — the title, or moving the release date (again), because it's not like many folks had marked this one down on the calendar.
But after being bumped from its original summer slot this year of June 15th to next spring on March 22, 2013 the studio has made one more move, placing the movie in the vacant March 1, 2013 slot left available once Neill Blomkamp's "Elysium" was moved to August. Got all that? And one more thing: it's now called "Jack The Giant Slayer" for some reason.
To refresh your memory, the film is a big-screen telling of the famous fable about a guy who goes up a green plant and gets into all sorts of trouble. It features a Brit-heavy cast including Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy, John Kassar, Ewan McGregor, Ian McShane, Eddie Marsan and more, and given the lukewarm response to a very early trailer, WB is gonna have to work extra hard to convince folks this isn't a bit of a dud. We'd guess that with "Cloud Atlas" just around the corner, they will be using it to host the trailer and start getting audiences to climb up the vine for 'Slayer.' [Variety]
Wasn't Bryan Singer one of the hottest directors around at one point? What happened to him?
