We sort of forgot about this movie, but it looks like “The Experiment” starring Adrien Brody is slowly beginning its journey to a theatrical release with a teaser poster hitting the web.
The film, a remake of Oliver Hirschbiegel’s acclaimed 2001 film “Das Experiment,” is based on the infamous Stanford Prison Experiment about a group of 20 or so males who play prisoners/prison guards for research purposes, only to have the experiment go to some very, very dark places – hence the pic of a caged Brody being eyed be a sinister CCTV camera. Directed by Paul Scheuring, perhaps best known as a producer and writer for the TV series “Prison Break,” the film has pulled together a decent, if somewhat unremarkable cast, including Forest Whitaker, Elijah Wood, Cam Gigandet, Clifton Collins Jr. and Maggie Grace.
There’s no word yet on when this will hit theaters, but we’re guessing it won’t be until sometime next year. Columbia Pictures has the U.S. distribution rights but it’s not up on their site yet and no date seems to have been firmed up. We’ll keep you posted.
Forest Whitaker and Clifton Collins Jr. aren't unremarkable asshole.
"Decent, but somewhat unremarkable cast"? There's two Academy Award winners in it. I wonder what would get the writer excited.
Forest Whitaker's last few movies: "Repo Men," "Our Family Wedding,""Hurricane Season," "Powder Blue," "Fragments."
Speaks for itself really.
Standford University? Really?
Is that the one located in the village of East Hampshire in England?
Beg pardon, Hilgum, missed that typo. Now fixed, thanks.
So you're saying that because Forest Whitaker's been in some bad movies lately that makes him an "unremarkable" actor?
The original was pretty flat but I guess it had potential. This is one remake I welcome with open arms
