Got a Tip?

Confirmed: Tim Burton & John August Reteam For ‘Monsterpocalypse’ In 3D

Last we heard, Tim Burton and screenwriter John August were set to team up for an adaptation of “Monsterpocalypse,” an adaptation of a board game (seriously) that essentially involves players controlling Godzilla-like monsters that would smash the hell out of your opponent’s city.

The duo have collaborated on “Big Fish,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Corpse Bride,” and August also penned the screenplay for “Dark Shadows,” plus the 3-D stop-motion animated version of “Frankenweenie”– originally a 1984 short — set up at Disney. Well, it’s all true and happening. More details at /Film if you care, but yes, it’s being developed as a 3D project and it sounds as if it’s a ways off, though could possibly hit theaters by 2012. But “Dark Shadows” with Johnny Depp is coming next and shoots early next year.
