If you think Tip “T.I.” Harris and Chris Brown deserve to be in more movies, you can put your money where your (very wrong) mouth is and buy a ticket to the long-delayed, Michael Mann-lite heist movie “Takers” this weekend. By doing so, you might just convince Screen Gems to greenlight a prequel. Seriously.
“There are definitely whispers around the studio about that,” T.I. told MTV. “Some phone calls have been made about that. But ultimately, it depends on what happens on August the 27th.”
With a budget of around $20 million plus whatever money has been poured into P&A (which doesn’t seem to be much) this little movie with a B-list (at best) cast could actually turn a profit. It’s arriving in theaters with virtually no competition other than “The Last Exorcism” which will either feed early hunger for Halloween scares or play strictly to its core audience; it remains to be seen. But with both movies holding a PG-13 rating, it’s anyone guess which will get the most “Ah, what the hell” ticket sales from moviegoers just looking for a place to hang out for two hours.
No word yet on what the prequel would cover, but it would probably tell the story of how this ragtag group got together and where they bought their suits.
OH GOD WHY IS EVERYTHING SO… BLUE?!?!
are you guys sure that picture isn't taken from Avatar?
That last line is gold Kevin.
