Stars of FX motorcycle-gang drama “Sons Of Anarchy,” the on-the-rise Charlie Hunnam and the revitalized Ron Perlman are set to unite on the silver screen alongside comedy thespians Lizzy Caplan and Chris O’Dowd for “Frankie Goes Boom,” a project written and to be directed by Jordan Roberts.
Little is currently known about the project other than the fact it’s a comedy from the mind of Roberts — though which of the many Jordan Roberts this is remains to be seen; we presume it’s the writer-director of 2004’s “Around The Bend,” based purely on his ability to attract big name actors like Michael Caine, Christopher Walken and Josh Lucas on that occasion.
Considering the lack of details, it’s somewhat of a blind move to be enthusiastic but we can’t help but get excited about a cast boasting an array of television-based talent including the exceptional macho leads of the aforementioned FX drama Hunnam and Perlman, the scene-stealing Caplan from the now-defunct comedy “Party Down” and O’Dowd, the consistently hilarious star of “The I.T. Crowd.”
Having said that, a random NYTimes page does reveal slightly more info noting that Pavlina Hatoupis, Marcel Langenegger, Julie Kirkham, Elliott Lewitt and keen tweeter Katayou A Marciano producing in association with little-known shingle The Ministry Of Content.
Lensing begins this weekend in Los Angeles.
