Got a Tip?

Now They’re Just Messing With Us: Frankie Muniz Joins ‘New Year’s Eve’

Update: Frankie Muniz won’t be pulling a Jordan. He hit Twitter today to say, “If I’m in the upcoming “New Year’s Eve” movie, nobody told me! I’m not sure where news outlets got that info… But I know nothing about it!” Bummer. But hey, did you know he’s in a band? Huh.

We’re gonna be careful about what we say because Frankie Muniz can really throw some sharp zingers on Twitter when he’s upset. Last year, when some upstart decided to tweet at Frankie that “ur acting is awful. sorry but it is” Muniz sat upright in his golden throne, cracked his knuckles and fired off this reply: “Yeah, but being retired with $40,000,000.00 at 19 has not been awful. Good luck moving out of your moms house before youre 35.” OH SNAP. About a month later, Muniz hit Twitter again to drop some more mad flava and teased “After 4 years of retirement from Hollywood… I think I’m gonna pull a Michael Jordon…” Well folks, Muniz has arrived.

What’s Playing has confirmed that the $40 million dollar man has joined Garry Marshall‘s romantic comedy epic “New Year’s Eve“; Sara Paxton (“Darcy’s Wild Life“) is on board as well. The duo will join the cast that seems to have been pulled together by a random number generator that includes Katherine Heigl, Jessica Biel, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank, Sienna Miller, Sofia Vergara, Seth Meyers, Til Schweiger, Josh Duhamel, Ice Cube, Ryan Seacrest, Alyssa Milano and Julie Andrews.

So, will Muniz’s return be a slam dunk or an airball? We’ll find out on December 9th.

Sure. But it hasn\’t been mentioned in any other press release (like Russell Peters who you can report about if you want to make another one of those articles ;)) The way/timing the casting sides were released (and the roles included in there) just doesn\’t make it likely imo. But who knows.

  3. I don\’t care if a rep has supposedly confirmed this, I say this is BS.

He was listed on IMDb right after the first actor was signed – which makes no sense at all. The bit parts were cast way later (and all the \”major\” parts are already accounted for).

Who knows but I say, that site is making stuff up.
