Steven Spielberg's ensemble epic "War Horse" has a little while before it's unleashed on general audiences this Christmas but, thus far, marketing for the film has been hitting all the expected, right notes promising a beautifully-shot Oscar-baity war drama. Eight new clips have now been unveiled from the film, based on the Michael Morpurgo novel and its subsequent Broadway hit, and once again it reaffirms our early feelings.
This collection of scenes gives us further glimpses at the massive, predominantly British ensemble cast in place headlined by Jeremy Irvine, Benedict Cumberbatch, Emily Watson, David Thewlis, Peter Mullan as well as Euro thesp Niels Arestrup. The story, of course, centers on a young man named Albert (Irvine) and his horse, Joey, and how their bond is broken when Joey is sold to the cavalry and sent to the trenches of World War I. Despite being too young to enlist, Albert heads to France to save his friend. Cue: tears and revelry?
"War Horse" will top off a very Spielberg Christmas this year, arriving four days after "The Adventures Of Tintin" rolls into the multiplex. The director will stay busy, with the helmer's Daniel Day Lewis-led "Lincoln" already set to unveil in December next year.
LOOKS GREAT!!!! can't wait for see it!!!
