Got a Tip?

Dominic Cooper Joins ‘Dead Man Down’ With Noomi Rapace & Collin Farrell From ‘Dragon Tattoo’ Director Niels Arden Oplev

nullWhat happens when you're about become the biggest actress on the planet? Projects start moving. Should "Prometheus" land the way many expect it will, Noomi Rapace will quickly become a (quirky) household name and Hollywood wants to make sure there is more of her on the way. Popping up and getting a taste of a multiplex sized movie in "Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows," and currently filming "Passion" with Brian DePalma another project that actress was linked to last fall is moving forward.

Announced at the American Film Market in November, "Dead Man Down" is a thriller that has Colin Farrell set to co-star with Rapace's "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" helmer Niels Arden Oplev to direct. And now Variety reports that the ever busy Dominic Cooper is taking a role in the movie too. Penned by J.H. Wyman ("The Mexican," "Fringe"), the thriller follows Victor (Farrell), right hand man to an underground crime lord in New York City is looking for vengeance for the death of a family member, and is seduced and blackmailed by Beatrice (Rapace), a crime victim seeking retribution. Their intense chemistry leads them spiraling into payback delivered in violent catharsis. Cooper will play Farrell's buddy on the street.

Solid leads, and a grimy premise, so we're down. Filming will actually kick off later this month, so we'll be seeing this sooner rather than later.

  1. Colin and Cooper actually make a great buddy couple. This one can turn out to be a good movie, if they do it the right way. Dark, depth of the characters, allowing them to show emotions, not just blunt action scenes.
