Watch: The Trailer For Mike Birbiglia’s Sundance-Celebrated ‘Sleepwalk With Me’

nullA little bit meta, melancholy and yes, funny, "Sleepwalk With Me" has been building a quiet storm of buzz ever since it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, and earned more praise in Texas at SXSW. And arriving at the end of the summer, it will serve as a nice way to wash out the glut of tentpole fare clogging your brain.

Based on co-director/co-writer and star Mike Birbiglia's successful one-man show, "Sleepwalk With Me" cenrters on a burgeoning stand-up comedian struggling with the stress of a stalled career, a stale relationship threatening to race out of his control, and the wild spurts of severe sleepwalking he is desperate to ignore. Birbiglia has rounded up a really great supporting cast with folks like Lauren Ambrose, David Wain, Kristen Schaal, Carol Kane and the always excellent James Rebhorn stopping by. And getting Judd Apatow to endorse the movie in the trailer, is no small feat either. All told, it plays like a familiar look at a young person's life in arrested development, but through the charming and unique prism of stand-up comedy.

"Sleepwalk With Me" hits theaters on August 24th and if you don't believe us about this one, read our review here.

  1. Why everything cool from the past winter's Sundance comes out around the same time of the trailers, like this one, or Hello I Must Be Going, etc.
