While Andy Samberg has left "Saturday Night Live," you don't need to worry about getting your weekly dose of laughter from the funnyman this fall (though you may need to find some creative ways to track it down). The comic actor has crossed the pond for a new series entitled "Cuckoo," and as the first footage from the show bears out this looks like it will be one to watch.
Airing on BBC Three, the six-part series will find Samberg playing the free spirited titular character, who surprises parents Ken (Welsh comedian Greg Davies) and Lorna (Helen Baxendale) by marrying their daughter (Tamla Kari) and moving in. And of course, this causes all sorts of comedic problems. The character seems right up Samberg's alley, allowing him plenty of room to flex his familiar comic muscles (even if some of this is a little too broad for our taste). But we have to admit, his scruffy, long haired, Davy Crockett hat getup alone makes us chuckle.
You can check out the ad and clip below and get a taste. "Cuckoo" starts airing on September 25th at 10 PM in the U.K. No word yet on when or if it will land stateside, but we're sure someone will pick it up. [CinemaBlend]
