Well, "The Europa Report" has been taking its sweet ass time in showing itself. The first image from the movie debuted at the beginning of the year, and then not much had been heard about it since. And even though there's no release date or a distributor as far as we can tell, a teaser trailer has dropped online, adding to the mystery.
It isn't very long, running just over thirty seconds, but it shows off a lot of impressive space station footage before cutting with the whole "Prometheus"/found-footage-esque tape stuff at the end. The film itself finds Sharlto Copley and Michael Nyqvist leading the story that follows six astronauts as they journey to Jupiter's eponymous moon. And that's about it. If you feel like digging more, you can head over to this viral site that has more footage feeding "live" from the cameras "on board."
Perhaps we'll see this at Sundance or somewhere on the festival circuit? Hopefully we'll know more soon.
Reminds me of OCEAN, graphic novel by Warren Ellis about creepy goings on underneath Europa's oceans. Good stuff. Teaser actually made me think of 2001.
