"The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman" is coming, and it looks like it could be right around the corner. Over the summer we learned that a Sundance or Berlin premiere was being eyed, and rarely do things happen in a vacuum in the movie world, so keep your eyes peeled for the picture as the first image of Shia LaBeouf and Evan Rachel Wood has arrived.
Based on the Black List script penned by Matt Drake ("Project X"), the story follows Charlie Countryman (LaBeouf), who while traveling abroad falls for Gabi (Wood), a Romanian beauty whose unreachable heart has its origins in Nigel (Mads Mikkelsen), her violent, charismatic ex. As the darkness of Gabi’s past increasingly envelops him, Charlie resolves to win her heart, or die trying. And with a pretty eclectic cast in support including Til Schweiger, Rupert Grint, Melissa Leo and James Buckley, we're curious to see what this one is all about.
Music video director Frederik Bond makes his feature debut and while there are no release dates or distributors lined up, something tells us we'll be hearing more soon. [Collider]
This has been released on the same day as the premiere lineup is released for Sundance (tonight), so I assume it will be there. Could be wrong though…
In this picture, Labeouf looks like Adrien Brody. Never thought that they looked alike before.
