Got a Tip?

‘Captain America: Civil War’ Screens In Two Weeks At CinemaCon

Captain America: Civil WarWith one superhero battle out of the way in "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice," it’s onto the others. Later this summer we’ll watch mutants mix it up in "X-Men: Apocalypse," but first will be "Captain America: Civil War." And Marvel and Disney are feeling so confident about the movie, they’re ready to show it to industry types early. Really early.

Screen Daily reports that "Captain America: Civil War" will screen at CinemaCon on April 13th, well in advance of its U.K. release date on April 29th, and U.S. debut on May 6th. But don’t even think of getting in. Unless you’re an industry person covering the convention, you’re not seeing it, so most of us will have to wait along with everyone else. But those lucky enough to see it early will get the first taste of Bucky and Steve Rogers’ reformed friendship.

“Bucky was always looking out for him when Steve was a smaller weak kid who needed direction and guidance,” Sebastian Stan told USA Today about the dynamic between pair. “Steve’s become the caretaking parent and Bucky is more of an unstable child now — someone who’s really struggling to have more of a sense of identity and is totally lost and confused with who he is.”

No word yet on when embargo on reviews will lift, but if Disney likes what they’re hearing out of CinemaCon, you can probably expect them not to keep on lid too long.
