While the term "remake" generally makes us shudder, the upcoming do-overs of horror staples "Evil Dead" and "Carrie" are giving reasons for optimism. The former is looking to take its R-rating right to the edge with a picture that takes inspiration from Sam Raimi's original and runs with it, promising audiences on the poster that it will be the most terrifying movie they've ever seen. Meanwhile, the latter puts Chloe Moretz in the iconic lead role, with none other than Kimberly Peirce directing in what will hopefully be a unique take on Stephen King's story. And now some new images are here to tease what's in store for both films.
First up, we go into the cabin with "Evil Dead," in which it seems no one is safe from the possessed Jane Levy. Blood will be spilled in buckets. Speaking of which, that's pretty much what happens with Carrie, and now we get another shot of the tortured teen who takes vengeance after she's pushed too far from all sides, from bullies at school to her domineering mother. Watch out.
