“Black Narcissus”
What You Need To Know: Based on the 1939 book written by English novelist Rumer Godden, the series is about escalating tensions in a small convent in an isolated area deep in the Himalayan mountains. Set in 1934, an ambitious nun is sent to the convent which resides in a haunting old Indian palace run by a World War I veteran, to establish a school and hospital with the other sisters in her order. Subsequently, the seed of tension grows as the young nun grapples with achieving her mission as well as her burgeoning desire for the attractive veteran she meets when she arrives. The cast includes Gemma Arterton in the title role alongside the forever captivating Alessandro Nivola, as well as iconic actress Diana Rigg in what was to be her final role prior to her death in September 2020. Bound to be a mysterious and spellbinding series, the show explores forbidden desire, the effects of isolation, and potential consequences of relentless ambition.

“The Flight Attendant”
What You Need To Know: HBO’s latest is a dark comedy thriller starring Kaley Cuoco as a flight attendant who wakes up to a precarious situation in a Bangkok hotel room when after a night of partying, she wakes up in the wrong hotel, the wrong bed, with a dead man. Based on the novel of the same name by New York Times best-selling author Chris Bohjalian, the miniseries is described as a story of how an entire life can change overnight. In addition to starring in the series, Cuoco also serves as executive producer. Additional cast members include Rosie Perez, Michelle Gomez (“The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), T.R. Knight (“Grey’s Anatomy”) and Michiel Huisman (“Game of Thrones”).
