After 16 years since his first film, “House of 1000 Corpses,” there will be a new horror film that continues the story of director Rob Zombie’s sadistic horror series. The film will be following on from Zombie’s 2005 cult hit “The Devil’s Rejects” and sees the return of characters Otis, Baby, and Captain Spaulding.

It is unknown as to what the trio will be doing in the next film, where they have previously been seen torturing a group of travelers in the first film, and in the second, seen taking their killjoy ways on the road.

The second film however ended in the trio racing towards the police, guns blazing and it is insinuated that they were killed. However, it seems they survived. Bill Moseley (Otis) spoke to Metal Hammer, but would not elaborate on how they survived. “I can’t say anything, it’s top secret,” Moseley continued, “It looks like we are driving towards the blazing guns of the sheriff’s department and that’s the end… but we’re back! It makes sense to come back now [that] we’re entering a golden age of horror with the success of ‘The Nun‘.”

Zombie also spoke to Metal Hammer about the film, about how he wanted it to be something completely different from the first two. “The second was so different to the first one, and I wanted the third one to be different yet again,” He went onto say, “If you’re just retreading the same movie for a profit, that’s a bummer.”

So it seems fans of the series will be getting something they haven’t seen before, a different but yet scary side to the Firefly family as they continue their lust for blood.

The third in this trilogy will see the return of Sid Haig (Captain Spaulding) and Sheri Moon Zombie (Baby Firefly), as well as veteran actor Danny Trejo’s character, Rondo, who was in “The Devil’s Rejects.”
