Can’t say I’m feeling that excited about Detroit. Great pedigree and everything but (at least from the trailers selling the picture) it all looks a bit unfocused. It’s hard to tell what the movie’s actually about.
And BTW, Inner City’s no longer called Inner City. It’s now going by some much less memorable name that I can’t remember.
I think Wonder Woman should be considered a POTENTIAL NOMINEE. It is visually stunning and female empowering. It was also directed by a woman with Oscar pedigree. It won’t win but could get a nomination.
The Big Sick, Florida Project and Call Me By Your Name aren’t all getting. I would choose one. Also, Last Flag Flying is a big question mark until anyone sees it.
