Video game movies have recently skyrocketed with audiences, with the likes of “Sonic The Hedgehog” and “Sonic The Hedgehog 2” being the highest-rated video game movies of all time. But director Kyle Newman is bringing a different kind of gaming movie to audiences.

Pro gamers from all around the world will compete against each other with games that they know inside and out. Newman is partnering with Lionsgate and Buzzfeed Studios to make the movie a reality. Newman is mostly known for his work on the movie “Fanboys” which starred Kristen Bell, Seth Rogen and Danny Trejo.
Here’s the official synopsis:

But when the Betas’ captain Dustin tells V she’ll never be a starting player, it’s game on. Joined by her best friend Sloane, and under the guidance of her coach Parker, V forms a fierce all-girl team to band together with one common goal: level up to the nationals…and take down the Betas!
