“The Crowded Room”
Tom Holland takes a step away from the blockbuster world for the upcoming drama, “The Crowded Room.” Amanda Seyfried, Emmy Rossum, and Sasha Lane also star in the series, which follows Holland as a young man who is arrested for his involvement in a shocking crime. The series is created by Akiva Goldsman (“Cinderella Man”) and inspired by the 1981 non-fiction novel “The Minds of Billy Milligan” by Daniel Keyes.
Release Date: The first three episodes premiere June 9 on Apple TV+.
“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds”
Of all the “Star Trek” series that have been released over recent years, from animated shows to continuations of classics, “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” has gained the greatest critical acclaim. Created by Akiva Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman, and Jenny Lumet, the second season returns with cast members Anson Mount and Ethan Peck as Christopher Pike and Spock, respectively, as they continue to explore the galaxy set ten years prior to the events of “Star Trek: The Original Series.”
Release Date: Season 2 premieres July 15 on Paramount+.
“Black Mirror”
Season six of Netflix’s science fiction series “Black Mirror” has once again assembled an all-star cast. Zazie Beetz, Aaron Paul, Michael Cera, Salma Hayek, Annie Murphy, and more join the cast, with creator Charlie Brooker once again returning. Each episode features new storylines that play within the sci-fi genre, with previous seasons having run the gamut of political thriller to full “Star Trek” spoof.
Release Date: Season 6 premieres June 15 on Netflix.
“Secret Invasion”
There’s no slowing down when it comes to the Marvel machine, with their latest television series, “Secret Invasion.” Created by Kyle Bradstreet (“Mr.Robot”), Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as Nick Fury as he learns about the secret invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Based on the popular comic series, the show follows Fury as he and his allies work together in order to thwart the invasion and save humanity. In the first series of Marvel’s Phase 5, Jackson is joined by Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Don Cheadle, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, and more.
