12 Movies To See In June: ‘Across The Spider-Verse,’ ‘No Hard Feelings,’ ‘Asteroid City’ & More

Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City” made a triumphant debut at this year’s Cannes following his last film, “The French Dispatch,” which had divisive reviews. Anderson has somehow managed to acquire his largest, most eclectic cast yet, featuring performances from Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Steve Carrell, Jeffrey Wright, and many, many more. Written and directed by Anderson and a story by Anderson and Roman Coppola, the film follows the events that occur at an annual Junior Stargazer convention in 1955. 
Release Date: In theaters June 16 via Focus Features.

No Hard Feelings
Following her dramatic work in last year’s “Causeway,” actress Jennifer Lawrence is leaning heavily into comedy with “No Hard Feelings.” Directed by Gene Stupnitsky (“Good Boys”), the film follows Lawrence’s Maddie who tries to make money to save her childhood home by agreeing to date a wealthy couple’s introverted and awkward 19-year-old son before he leaves for college. Co-written by Stupnitsky and John Phillips, the film also stars Andrew Barth Feldman, Matthew Broderick, Laura Benanti, and Natalie Morales
Release Date: In theaters June 23 via Sony Pictures Releasing.

Indiana Jones And The Dial of Destiny
Harrison Ford returns as one of his most iconic characters in “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.” James Mangold (“Logan,” “Ford vs. Ferrari”) directed the film, with newcomer cast members including Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Antonio Banderas. The film premiered at Cannes, where our critic praised Ford, writing, “Ford is a curmudgeon and a charmer; he offers vulnerability and strength, patience and naturalism, the willingness to play with his star persona and the ability to give the audience their comfort food.”
Release Date: In theaters June 30 via Walt Disney Studios.

Nimona
Based on the popular graphic novel by ND Stevenson, “Nimona” follows a knight who has been framed for a crime he didn’t commit and must team up with Nimona, a shame-shifting teen who may also be a monster he’s sworn to kill. Troy Quane and Nick Bruno direct, with a voice cast led by Chloë Grace Moretz alongside Riz Ahmed, Eugene Lee Yang, Frances Conroy, Lorraine Toussaint, and more.
Release Date: Available to stream June 30 via Netflix.
